Varsity Softball Head Coach at John Burroughs High School

Doug Nicol has had a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Doug started their career in 1990 as a Sports Producer at KCBS | CBS LA and continued in this role until 1993. In the same year, they joined John Burroughs High School as the Varsity Basketball Head Coach, a position they held until 2004. In 1993, they also began working at St. Patrick Catholic School as the Vice Principal/Teacher, staying with the school until 2007. In 2007, they joined John Muir Middle School as a Teacher. In 2010, they returned to John Burroughs High School as the Varsity Softball Head Coach, and they are currently still in this role since starting in February 2020.

Doug Nicol completed their Bachelor's degree in Radio and Television at California State University, Los Angeles from 1987 to 1990. Doug then obtained a California Teaching Credential in Physical Education Teaching and Coaching and Fitness from National University from 2000 to 2002. Prior to that, they earned their Associate of Arts - AA degree in Radio and Television Broadcasting Technology/Technician from Los Angeles Valley College, which they attended from 1983 to 1986.
