Chief IP Counsel at John Crane

Ashley Romano has a strong background in intellectual property law and patent prosecution. Ashley is currently serving as the Chief IP Counsel at John Crane since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Honeywell as Deputy Chief IP Counsel from December 2018 to May 2023 and as a Patent Counsel from July 2014 to December 2018. Earlier in their career, they were a Patent Attorney at the University of Illinois at Chicago from August 2012 to July 2014 and at Richards Patent Law P.C. from October 2010 to July 2012. Ashley also gained experience as a Patent Law Clerk at Verenium Corporation from April 2008 to February 2009 and as a Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Chicago from 2003 to 2005.

Ashley Romano has a Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois Chicago, which they completed from 2001 to 2005. Following that, they pursued a degree in Law, specializing in Intellectual Property Law, at the Thomas Jefferson School of Law from 2006 to 2009.
