Andrew Cary

VP, Digital at John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

Andrew Cary has been working in the Digital and Social Media field for over 20 years. Andrew started their career as a Production Manager and Producer for Advance Digital in 1995. In this role, they oversaw the News page and special projects, as well as production and publishing for nj.com. In 1998, they left Advance Digital to join Discovery Communications as their Group Senior Director, Digital & Social Media. In this role, they led digital strategy and operations for a portfolio of national brands including Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery, Science Channel, Velocity, Destination America and American Heroes Channel. Andrew oversaw product development, editorial direction, content marketing, video production, audience development, digital sales campaigns, and syndication. In December 2016, they left Discovery Communications to join the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as their VP, Digital.

Andrew Cary received a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University - Graduate School of Journalism and a Master's Degree in Journalism from Columbia University. Andrew also holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Recording from the University of Southern California.

They work with Joseph Kalichstein - Artistic Director, Fortas Chamber Music, Marc Bamuthi Joseph - VP & Artistic Director for Social Impact, and Francesca Zambello - Artistic Director, Washington National Opera. Their manager is Deborah F. Rutter, President.
