Ryan Hourigan is an accomplished consultant at Focus 5, Inc. since June 2023, and has served as a National Workshop Leader and member of the National Speakers Bureau at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts since August 2013. As Co-Director and Co-Founder of The Prism Project, established in November 2008, Ryan contributes to arts programming for children with special needs. At Ball State University, Ryan has held various roles, including Professor, Director of the School of Music, Associate Professor, and Interim Director of Undergraduate Programs in Music since August 2006. Previous experience includes serving as Director of Music at Benet Academy from August 1995 to July 2004 and Director of Bands at Cumberland County Public Schools (IL) for a brief period in early 1995. Ryan holds a Ph.D. in Music Education from The University of Michigan, a Master of Music in Wind Conducting from Michigan State University, and a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Eastern Illinois University.
