Shiyana Valentine is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in audience development, community engagement, and program management across various organizations. Currently serving as the Manager of Constituent Relations & Audience Development for the Washington National Opera at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts since May 2024, Shiyana previously held the position of Senior Project Manager at WETA, where a free online professional development platform for educators was launched. As Education & Community Engagement Manager at WUCF, Shiyana designed an award-winning public media engagement strategy and co-produced a children's special that won a Suncoast Regional Emmy. Earlier roles include Youth Outreach & Partnership Coordinator at the Orange County Library System, Executive Director of the Kerosene Lamp Foundation, Country Manager for the Clinton Health Access Initiative in the Bahamas, and Operations Analyst at the World Bank. Shiyana holds a Master's degree in International Development from American University and a Bachelor of Arts in Peace Studies & History from Colgate University.
