Gary Wortley has over 30 years of work experience, starting in 1986. Gary worked as a technician in a private company before joining the Institute of Food Research as a Laboratory Manager in November 1986. Gary also served as a Biosafety Officer and Laboratory Manager at the Quadram Institute Bioscience. Gary worked at BBSRC as part of the IFR from 1986 until 2015. Gary then joined the USDA-ARS as an Assistant Professor from December 1999 to December 2001. In 1995, they worked as a researcher at the University of Ulster. Most recently, they have been a Laboratory Manager at the John Innes Centre since July 2018. Additionally, Gary had a previous role as an Editor at the Norwich Astronomical Society from February 2017 to October 2021.
