James Piercy

James Piercy has a diverse work experience, with roles in various organizations. James is currently working as the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement Lead at Queen Mary University of London since July 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Communication and Engagement Officer at John Innes Centre from August 2017. In 2020, they worked as the Outreach Lead at NIHR Brain Injury MedTech Co-operative. James also served as an Honorary Lecturer at the University of East Anglia from January 2017. James Piercy has been actively involved in the field of healthcare improvement and was a member of the Engagement and Involvement Advisory Board at THIS Institute. Additionally, they worked as a Public Reviewer for the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). Before venturing into the healthcare sector, James Piercy worked as a brewery tour guide at Woodforde's from 2003 to April 2019. James has substantial experience in science communication, having worked as a Science Show Presenter at science made simple from May 2008 to August 2017. James also held leadership positions in the science communication field, serving as the Chair of BIG from July 2012 to July 2016 and July 2009 to January 2011.

James Piercy received a Bachelor of Science (Bsc) degree in Chemistry from the University of East Anglia between 1991 and 1994. James then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (Msc) degree in Science from The Open University from 2003 to 2005.
