Elena Thomas Faulkner

Elena Thomas Faulkner is a seasoned professional in health policy and management, currently serving as a Senior Technical Associate and Senior Policy Consultant at JSI since October 2023. Previously, Elena held the position of Chief Executive Officer at the National Institute for Medical Assistant Advancement (NIMAA) from November 2018 to August 2023, where strategic and operational leadership was provided to tackle medical assistant shortages and promote health career equity. As the Chief Strategy Officer at Clínica Tepeyac from June 2016 to October 2018, Elena focused on advancing culturally competent healthcare for underserved populations. Elena also has extensive experience as a Senior Consultant at John Snow, Inc. (JSI), and led policy and development initiatives at the Colorado Community Health Network. Early career work included serving as Public Policy Director at the Latin American Research and Service Agency. Elena holds a Master's degree in International Development from The American University and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Colorado Boulder.
