Vanessa Melendrez has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Vanessa began their career in 2006 as a Public Relations Assistant at Red Light Public Relations. From 2007 to 2008, they worked as a Marketing Event Coordinator at Makai. In 2009, they joined ValenTx as a Clinical Data Coordinator and later became a Clinical Data Monitor & Site Liaison until 2017. Vanessa then worked as a Business Development Manager at Hope Research Institute from 2013 to 2017. Starting in 2017, Vanessa held various roles at Mayo Clinic, including Sponsored Project Specialist and Senior Program Coordinator, with responsibilities in research support and project management. In 2022, they joined the digital coloring book app PNTRLY as an Artist Liaison. Additionally, Vanessa served as the Director of Operations & Events at Cali Green Clothing from 2004 to 2010, and as a Special Event Coordinator at Life Design Events, LLC from 2011 to 2013. Most recently, they became the Director of Pop Up Shops & Events at Johnny Cupcakes in 2019, and later took on the role of Official Cake Dealer - Pop Up Shop Event Coordinator. Currently, Vanessa is working as a Senior Program Coordinator in the Department of Otolaryngology (ENT) - Research at Mayo Clinic.

Vanessa Melendrez obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Fashion Marketing & Management from The Art Institutes. Vanessa attended this institution from 2004 to 2007. In addition to their degree, Vanessa also holds two certifications. Vanessa obtained the Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) certification from the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SOCRA) in March 2013. Furthermore, they also hold a Bronze Certificate as a Mayo Clinic Quality Fellow, awarded by the Mayo Clinic in 2019.
