David Requena

David Requena, PhD, is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in bioinformatics and biostatistics. Currently serving as a Postdoctoral Scientist at both the New York Genome Center and NYU Langone Health, David also holds the position of Faculty Advisor for the ISCB Student Council. As a Senior Bioinformatician and Biostatistician at The Johns Hopkins University and a former Senior Bioinformatician at The Rockefeller University, David has made significant contributions to the field. David's leadership includes serving as President and Vice President of the Sociedad Peruana de Bioinformática. Furthermore, David leads research as a Principal Investigator at BigMind and has experience in oncology and immunology as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at Natera. David's educational background includes a PhD in Bioscience from The Rockefeller University, a Master's degree in Biomedical Informatics in Global Health from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, and a Bachelor of Science in Genetics and Biotechnology from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos.
