David Young

David Young possesses extensive experience in the field of electro-optical and infrared systems, currently serving as Group Supervisor and Program Manager at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory since 2005. Young’s roles have included Chief Engineer for Free Space Optical Communications and part of the Principal Professional Staff. In addition to laboratory work, Young has been a University Lecturer at The Johns Hopkins University since 2007, focusing on Fourier Techniques in Optics and developing a new course on optical communications and laser radar systems. Previous positions include Principal Engineer at EVI Technology, Technical Section Leader at Corvis Corporation, Technical Manager at Lucent Technologies, Manager of Test & Measurement at OFS, Research Fellow at the University of Connecticut, and Systems Engineer at Litton Laser Systems. Young holds a Ph.D., a Master of Science, and a Bachelor of Science, all from the University of Connecticut, specializing in Electrical Engineering and Physics.
