Laura Mitchell

Laura Mitchell is an accomplished professional in intellectual property management and technology licensing, currently serving as the Director of Intellectual Property Managers at The Johns Hopkins University since October 2020. Previously, Laura held positions at Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures as a Senior Technology Licensing Associate/IP Manager from 2014 to October 2020, and at Johns Hopkins Technology Transfer as a Technology Licensing Associate from 2009 to 2014. Laura began the career in intellectual property at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where responsibilities included evaluating patent applications and conducting relevant searches from March 2005 to March 2008. Additionally, Laura has a strong academic background with a PhD from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and has completed postdoctoral fellowships at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and Northwestern University Medical School.
