Louis Whitcomb

Louis Whitcomb is an accomplished academic and researcher with extensive experience in mechanical engineering and ocean physics. Since January 1995, Louis has served in various capacities at Johns Hopkins University, including Professor and Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Concurrently, Louis holds the position of Adjunct Scientist at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Prior experience includes postdoctoral roles at The University of Tokyo and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, as well as a research and development engineering position at FANUC Robotics America. Louis earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, followed by multiple degrees in Electrical Engineering, including a Ph.D. from Yale University, where studies spanned from 1980 to 1992.
