Niel Leon

Niel Leon is a seasoned engineering professional with over 30 years of experience in mechanical systems design, development, and commercialization, including significant roles in both the commercial and governmental sectors such as NASA and the US Military. Currently serving as a WSE Senior Manufacturing/Systems Engineer at Johns Hopkins University since July 2012, Niel is in the process of transitioning to part-time work while focusing on developing a new program to enhance the institution's research capabilities. Niel's previous roles at Johns Hopkins include Safety Advocate, Laser Safety Officer, and Laboratory Manager, where responsibilities involved overseeing safety programs and academic labs. Prior to this, Niel served as Technical Director at Unicorn Technical Services and was a Chief Engineer at Pulse-NFS. Niel holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.
