Kate McNair

Kate McNair serves as the Teen Services Coordinating Librarian at Johnson County Library since January 2008, where responsibilities include planning and implementing various teen programs, leading library staff in teen services, and managing the award-winning literary magazine, elementia. Kate also focuses on creating partnerships with community organizations, grant writing, and staff training, alongside providing library services to teens in detention. Prior experience includes a role as Library Assistant at both Iowa City Community School District and Ames Public Library, where duties involved material management, display creation, and managing volunteer programs. Kate holds a Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Iowa State University.
