Nitish Umang

Nitish Umang is a Senior Data Science Manager at Johnson & Johnson, where they lead a team of operations research and machine learning engineers. Previously, Nitish served as a Lead Scientist in Operations Research at GE Global Research from 2015 to 2021 and was a Postdoctoral Researcher at CIRRELT from 2014 to 2015. They have also contributed to the INFORMS Journal on Applied Analytics as an Associate Editor since 2025. Nitish completed a Ph.D. in Operations Research at Ecole polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne and holds a Master of Science in Transportation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, along with a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
