Alistair Kean

Alistair Kean is a prominent academic and business leader in the field of nanotechnology, currently serving as a Professor of Medical Nanotechnology at the University of the Highlands and Islands since May 2019 and as a Visiting Professor at The Manchester Metropolitan University. In addition, Alistair holds the position of Managing Director at NikaWorks Ltd since April 2013 and serves as Chief Executive Officer at Nikalyte Ltd. Alistair has extensive experience in business development, working as a New Business Development Consultant for Johnson Matthey since September 2014. Previous roles include Technical Director at Mantis Deposition Ltd and Co-Founder of Kamelian Ltd, along with significant academic contributions as a Research Fellow at The University of Glasgow and positions at Sharp Laboratories of Europe Ltd. Alistair's educational background includes a B.Sc. in Applied Physics from the University of Strathclyde and a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of St Andrews.
