Russ Ruffing

Russ Ruffing serves as the Vice President and Practice Leader of the Natural & Cultural Resources Division at Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson since August 2009. In this role, Russ oversees a range of services including NEPA compliance, ecological restoration, regulatory permitting, and public outreach, while also collaborating on TMDL, NPDES, and MS4 projects. Prior to this position, Russ was the Director of Environmental Assessments & Permitting at Straughan Environmental Services, Inc. from June 2003 to July 2009, and worked as an Environmental Supervisor I at the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Engineering between November 1988 and June 2003, focusing on coastal and wetland rehabilitation and wastewater projects. Russ earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Resource Management from Penn State University, where studies took place from 1982 to 1986.
