David L. Katz

David L. Katz, MD, MPH, serves as Chief Medical Officer at Tangelo and continues to be the CEO and Founder of Diet ID, a company focused on modernizing dietary intake assessment and coaching. As the Founder and President of the True Health Initiative, Katz leads a global coalition dedicated to promoting healthy living and combating chronic disease through sustainable dietary practices. Katz contributes to US News & World Report as a judge for the annual "Best Diets" feature and serves as an online columnist. Katz has also authored key texts in nutrition and epidemiology, including "Nutrition in Clinical Practice" and "Jekel's Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Preventive Medicine, and Public Health." Katz's extensive experience includes roles as a medical journalist and advisory positions in health promotion and disease prevention. Education includes an MPH in Chronic Disease Epidemiology from Yale, an MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and a BA from Dartmouth College.
