Lead Software Engineer at Found

Michael Lavina is an experienced software engineer with a diverse range of roles and responsibilities. Michael is currently working as a Lead Software Engineer at Found since August 2021. Prior to this, they were employed at FactSet from October 2018 to August 2021, where they served as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer.

Before joining FactSet, Michael worked at MaxxVault LLC as a Developer from October 2014 to July 2016. In this role, they explored new technologies related to document management systems and implemented OCR engines into the current .NET application.

Michael also worked as a Web Developer at Stony Brook University from February 2014 to February 2015, where they transformed a static HTML site into a dynamic web platform using Drupal as a PHP web framework.

Furthermore, Michael gained valuable experience as a Software Engineering Intern at Netsmart Technologies from May 2014 to August 2014. During their internship, they played a key role in migrating the old ASP system into a modern cross-browser compatible ASP.NET infrastructure and improved system performance and efficiency.

In addition, Michael worked as a Student Mentor at CSTUY for a brief period from July 2013 to September 2013. In this role, they advised high school students in a sensor fusion research lab and submitted a research paper on the use of combining gesture and speech recognition.

Michael began their career as a Web Developer at Glass Capital Research Inc. from January 2012 to February 2013. Michael was responsible for programming the backend and frontend of the product in Java, PHP, and Javascript, developing a proprietary Google Finance stock graph viewer, and implementing cross-browser solutions.

Before entering the software engineering field, Michael gained experience as an Intern at John Hardy Jewelry from February 2010 to January 2012. In this role, they managed various company functions, handled inventory, and employed efficient organizational practices to meet crucial deadlines.

Lastly, Michael worked as an Independent Consultant at CityMaps.com from November 2010 to June 2011. Michael contributed to the completion and launch of the company's website and provided technical expertise in formatting and design work.

Michael Lavina obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from Stony Brook University, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Stuyvesant High School from 2007 to 2011. Michael then pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science at Stony Brook University Graduate School from 2015 to 2016.
