Xiangyi Ke

Sr. QC Manager at JOINN Biologics

Xiangyi Ke, PhD. has a wide range of work experience in the field of analytical chemistry. In 2021, they began working as a Sr. Scientist, Manager of AD/QC and Sr. Scientist, Process Development, Analytical at JOINN Biologics US Inc. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Scientist and Senior Chemist at Pacific BioLabs, Inc., where they performed analytical testing for pharmaceutical companies under cGMP/GLP regulation according to SOP, validated methods, and USP methodology. Xiangyi also developed and validated client specific methods using analytical instrumentation including ICP-MS, HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, FTIR and bench chemistry. From 2018 to 2019, they worked as a Wine Analyst III at Enartis, where they created, documented, executed, and optimized GC-MS/HPLC testing for wine smoke taint, haloanisoles contamination, and oaks volatile compounds. From 2013 to 2018, they worked as a Teaching and Research Assistant at the University of Houston, where they conducted research and experiments in the fields of surface chemistry, electrochemistry, polymer science, principles of chemical engineering, and hydromechanics. Xiangyi utilized cyclic voltammetry, UV-vis, ESR, GC-MS, electrosynthesis, and structural optimization to elucidate the redox reaction mechanisms of porphyrins, corroles, and BODIPYs, and proved the mechanism by Gaussian DFT Calculation, respectively. Xiangyi also championed the applications of porphyrin, corrole, and BODIPYs in photodynamic therapy and to support efficient energy storage.

Xiangyi Ke obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry from the University of Houston in 2017. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Applied Science - BASc in Applied Chemistry from Beijing Technology and Business University in 2012. In 2021, they obtained a COVID-19 Training for Healthcare Workers certification from Coursera Course Certificates. In 2019, they obtained a SQL Bootcamp certification from Udemy, and in 2018 they obtained a LEVEL 2 certification from WSET - Wine & Spirit Education Trust.
