Emmit Peterson has a long and varied work experience. In 2018, they began working for The Joint Industry Board of the Electrical Industry as Manager of Helpdesk Services and Supervisor Technology Support Analyst. In 2017, they were self-employed as an Information Technology Manager, focusing on project management and strategic planning. From 1999-2017, Emmit worked for Time Inc. as a Global Business Technology Manager and Technical Support Specialist. As Global Business Manager, they partnered with senior leadership on key decisions to guide short and long-range technology planning and implementation. As Technical Support Specialist, they provided technical support to end-users, performed computer diagnostics, security administration, data recovery and backups, computer imaging, hardware/software rollouts and upgrades, and onsite presentation setup and support.

Emmit Peterson obtained their Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from The City College of New York between 1982 and 1986. Emmit also holds certifications from CompTIA Security+ (2008), Apple, ITIL Certified, Microsoft, and Microsoft's MCSA CompTIA A and MCSE.
