Amie Lonas currently serves as Provost and Dean of Faculty and Academic Affairs at the Joint Special Operations University since August 2020. Prior to this, Amie Lonas held the position of Dean of Faculty and Academic Programs at the Joint Forces Staff College, National Defense University from July 2017 to August 2020, and was the Director of Schools for the Franklin County School District from July 2015 to June 2017. Amie Lonas also served as Dean of Academics and Director of Faculty Development at the Joint Special Operations University from July 2010 to June 2015. Amie Lonas earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Vanderbilt University, a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

USSOCOM's "Think-Do Tank" Center for Special Operations Thinking. WE SHARPEN THE EDGE OF SOF’S ADVANTAGE: THE NEXT-GENERATION SOF PROFESSIONAL. The Joint Special Operations University (JSOU) provides education to Special Operations Forces (SOF) and to people who enable the SOF mission in a joint environment. In addition to the regular courses taught at MacDill Air Force Base (AFB), JSOU routinely conducts both regular and tailored off-station activities for SOF units worldwide by means of remote or on-site instruction, DL courses, and via video tele-instruction (VTI). Vision USSOCOM's "Think-Do Tank" - Center for Special Operations Thinking. Mission JSOU prepares SOF professionals to address strategic and operational challenges, arming them with the ability to think through problems with knowledge, insight, and foresight.
