Joe Wykes

Joe Wykes has extensive experience in the retail industry, specifically in the pet, bed, and furniture sectors. Joe most recently served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jollyes- The Pet People starting in May 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Jollyes- The Pet People from July 2021 to May 2022.

Before joining Jollyes, Joe worked at Bensons for Beds as the COO from March 2020 to July 2021. In this role, they oversaw various departments, including marketing, digital, manufacturing, buying, and warehousing. Joe was responsible for the management of the entire supply chain and had a team of 900 employees.

Prior to their role at Bensons for Beds, Joe was the CEO of Sleepeezee, a PE-backed bed manufacturer with a turnover of £40m. Joe also served on the Adova parent company Board in Paris. At Sleepeezee, they managed a team of 300 employees and oversaw sales and marketing, finance, and operations.

Before their role at Sleepeezee, Joe served as the Group CFO of Adova Group, a furniture and bedding manufacturer with 1600 employees across France and the UK. Adova Group was a distressed investment bought out of Administration in Paris.

Joe has also worked as an Interim CFO on a self-employed basis, where they provided support to finance teams across Europe in leveraged environments. Joe'sroles included financial reporting, liquidity forecasting, advising on finance team structure, and strategic planning.

Prior to their self-employed work, Joe worked in various roles at Ascometal, including Deputy CFO and Finance Transformation Manager. Joe was responsible for diagnostic and value-chain mapping, leading change programs, and collaborating with key stakeholders.

Joe started their career at PwC as a Manager in the Financial Decision and Analysis team, focusing on private equity and bank LBO environments. Joe worked on projects such as implementing management information packs, assisting in distressed asset sales, and strategic planning.

Before joining PwC, Joe worked as a Financial Controller at Pulse Home Products Ltd and as an Assistant Manager at EY.

Joe Wykes attended ICAS - The Professional Body of CAs from 2003 to 2006, but did not receive a degree or specialize in any specific field of study during that time. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2003, they studied at Brunel University London, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Mathematics & French. In addition, during the academic year 2001-2002, Joe spent some time at UVSQ Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, but it is not specified what degree they pursued or field of study they engaged in during their time there.
