Jonah Group
Derek Burgess has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Derek started their career at Pearson Education as a Software Engineer, where they worked from 1999 to 2017. In 2017, Derek joined The Jonah Group as a Business Analyst and later took on the role of Product Manager from February 2019 to August 2019. Derek then moved to Kortext in 2019, where they currently hold the position of Business Analyst and IT Project Manager since April 2022.
Derek Burgess completed their education in a chronological manner. In 1990, they enrolled at McMaster University and pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree, specializing in Business/Commerce, General. Derek successfully completed the program in 1994. In 1997, Derek attended the Information Technology Institute (ITI) in Toronto, where they obtained a Software Development Diploma. This diploma covered various subjects such as Oracle, Java, and Web Development. Their education at ITI concluded in 1998. Additionally, in May 2022, Derek obtained a Scrum Master Certification (SMC) from the Scrum Alliance.
