The Jonathan Alder Local School District (JALSD) is located in a rural area primarily in Madison County and extends into Union County to the north. It is situated about 25 miles northwest of Columbus and neighboring Marysville, Hilliard, Dublin, West Jefferson, London and Mechanicsburg. Sixteen miles of US Highway 42 connects the school community from north to south and the geographical area spans 109 square miles (most of which is comprised of rich agricultural and farming land.)
