Corey Rushton is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in public policy, governance, and community service. As the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District since January 2012, Corey leads a board that governs water resources in the region. Previously served as a Trustee for the Granger-Hunter Improvement District from November 2016 to January 2024, overseeing governance and policy compliance for community services. Additional roles include Senior Policy Advisor and Communications & Administrative Services Manager at Salt Lake City Corporation, contributing to asset development strategies and managing public services administration. Corey also held positions as Mayor Pro Tem and Council Member at West Valley City, and worked in various capacities in marketing and finance early in the career. Corey's educational background includes a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the University of Utah, a Predictive Analytics Certification from UC Irvine, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Utah.

Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District is primarily a wholesaler of water to many cities in the Salt Lake Valley, serving more than 700,000 people. We also serve water to more than 8,500 retail customers. Established in 1951 by the Utah Legislature with the task of developing water sources for the increasing population in the Salt Lake Valley.
