Om Ganda has a strong work history in the medical field. Om began their career in 1972 as a Clinical Fellow in Endocrinology at Tufts Medical Center, and then went on to work as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Brigham and Women's Hospital from 1973 to 1976. In the same year, they joined Joslin Diabetes Center as a Medical Director of the Lipid Clinic. Additionally, they are an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, a position they have held since 1973.
Om Ganda attended SMS Medical College in Jaipur, India from 1961 to 1966, where they earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. Om then went on to study at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences from 1967 to 1970, where they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Medicine.
