Laura Cooley

Laura Cooley, PhD, currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Patient Experience, leading with visionary guidance and strategic direction since January 2019. Previously, Laura held the position of Senior Director of Education and Outreach at The Academy of Communication in Healthcare from April 2011 to January 2023, where Laura achieved significant financial success by managing a new business portfolio of enterprise affiliates. Additionally, Laura contributed as a Special Advisor (Assistant Clinical Professor) at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine from January 2018 to December 2022, supporting health communication initiatives. Laura holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Health Communication from Bowling Green State University, a degree in Organizational Communication from Western Kentucky University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown College.
