Laura Turner

Laura Turner has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Laura is currently the Director of People Operations at Journal Technologies since February 2023. Prior to this, Laura was the Owner & Operator of Sew Fizzy since October 2013. Laura also served as the Vice President of Operations at Buyside Ventures from November 2022 to February 2023. Laura has a significant background in human resources, having held positions such as VP of Human Resources, Director of Human Resources, and Studio Operations Manager at KIXEYE from 2014 to 2022. Furthermore, they have experience as a Recruitment Coordinator and Sales & Marketing Coordinator at Seeker Solutions from 2010 to 2014. Laura started their career as a Sales & Planning Consultant at Heritage Office Furnishings Victoria Ltd. in 2009 and as an Executive Assistant at Aon Reed Stenhouse from 2005 to 2009. Laura also had a role in administration and sales at Victoria BMW & MINI Victoria from 2002 to 2005.

Laura Turner earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Victoria between 2003 and 2008. In 2013, they completed a program called "Employment and Human Rights Law for Managers" at UBC Sauder School of Business. Additionally, in 2012, Laura obtained a Change Management Certification from Prosci. Also, in 2010, they completed a program in LEED in Commercial Interiors from the Green Building Council of BC.
