Karen J. Stewart has extensive professional experience in a wide variety of settings and modalities. Karen J. began their career in 2001 as a Medical Social Worker for Health in Home and Nursefinders, providing initial psychosocial assessments, in-home visits, referrals, and individual and family counseling. In 2004, they joined M\u00e9decins Sans Fronti\u00e8res (MSF) as a Mental Health Officer and Mental Health Coach, providing support, training, and coaching for missions ranging from 1 to 3 months in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kashmir & Manipur, India, Bangladesh, and Uzbekistan. In 2012, they became an Emergency Room and Psychiatric Evaluations Case Manager on Medical Floors for HCA: Rose Medical Center & Swedish Medical Center, providing psychosocial assessments, discharge planning, referrals, and crisis interventions. From 2013-2018, they worked as a Humanitarian Aid Mental Health Specialist for Karen Stewart, LLC, offering mentoring, consulting, and training in the humanitarian aid sector. In 2018, they began working as a Clinical Supervisor for Motivo, providing online clinical supervision in Colorado. Karen J. also served as an Associate Trainer for REDR UK from 2016-2019, delivering humanitarian training and developing new training materials. In 2019, they became a Presenter and Donor Liaison for MSF's Public Engagement Association. Finally, they have been an Adjunct Assistant Faculty for the Graduate School of Professional Psychology and Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Denver since 2015. Karen J. is currently an Integration Therapist and offering Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) remotely in California and Colorado through Journey Clinical.
