Ana Belen Lyons

Ana Belen Lyons is an ENL Teacher at Amherst Central High School since September 2023 and has been serving as a Translator for Journey's End Refugee Services, Inc. since April 2017, specializing in translating legal and medical documents in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. Additionally, Ana works as a Spanish and Portuguese Interpreter for the International Institute of Buffalo, focusing on medical and legal contexts. As a Fulbright Scholar from April to December 2022, Ana contributed as an English Teaching Assistant at Fundação Universidade de Passo Fundo in Brazil. Previous experience includes serving as a Bilingual Paralegal for the ECBA Volunteer Lawyers Project, where responsibilities encompassed initiating end of life documents and interpreting for Spanish-speaking clients. Ana holds a Graduate degree in ESOL from the University at Buffalo and a Bachelor's degree in Spanish & Health and Wellness from Buffalo State University, along with an academic tenure at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro.
