Iris DeFino is a dedicated political science major with a minor in human rights from Binghamton University, where involvement in various initiatives showcases a commitment to advocacy for marginalized communities. Currently serving as a member of the Student Health Advisory Committee and a Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Expression Educator, Iris actively promotes inclusivity for queer and neurodivergent students. Previous experiences include legal internships at the NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development and Journey's End Refugee Services, along with roles in political communications and advocacy for the Justice and Unity for the Southern Tier organization. Iris's background includes participation in research focused on disinformation in political contexts and engagements in congressional campaigns, reflecting a strong foundation in both legal and political fields.
