Teb Batey is a lifelong resident of Rutherford County. After selling B&B Awards and Engraving—a partnership he started as a junior in high school—Teb pursued a degree in business administration from David Lipscomb University. Upon graduating, he returned to the family business, Batey’s Office Supply and Photo, to work full time and to complete a Master of Business Administration degree from MTSU. Teb had the opportunity to run for Rutherford County Trustee in 2006 and continues to serve in this position today. He was recognized in 2014 as outstanding Trustee of the year for Tennessee. Teb serves as minister for the Milton Church of Christ and is on the boards of Barnabus Vision and Middle Tennessee Christian School. He has always loved farming and was named “Outstanding Beef Producer of the Year” in 1998 by the Tennessee Cattleman’s Association.

Journeys in Community Living

Journeys in Community Living is committed to supporting adults with disabilities in choosing and realizing their visions of where and how they live, work and socialize. We operate with the beliefs that all persons with disabilities should have the support necessary to live healthy and secure lives; work at meaningful jobs which they enjoy; live in homes of their own with whom they choose; have friends and other relationships in their lives; and participate in and contribute to their communities. Journeys has been striving for this goal since it was established more than 40 years ago as the Rutherford County Adult Activity Center. We invite you to learn more about us on our Web site or by coming in for a tour!
