Origins Our story begins in the early nineties, when the Castel Brewery began producing newly independent Georgia’s first national beer, Argo. Its clean refreshing taste, twinned with its spirit of independence, led to Argo becoming Georgia’s most popular beer brand. In 2012 Castel became known as Castel Georgia, reinforcing Argo’s proud heritage and traditions, as well as embracing European brewing technologies designed to increase productivity and make Argo beer taste even better. The future looks bright Roll forward to 2017. Argo is looking to the future with a new owner and a new name. Now called The Argo Brewing Company, the business is committed to major investment in the latest brewing technologies, bringing Argo in line with other leading international beer brands, and putting Georgia firmly on the map as one of the finest beer producers in Europe.
