Paul Hartzenberg

Paul Hartzenberg has over 10 years of experience in compliance and regulatory development within the financial sector. Paul started their career as a Compliance Officer at Absa Capital in 2002 and then moved to Investec in 2009 to work in the same role. In 2011, Paul joined the Cape Bar as an Advocate before joining JSE Limited in 2013. At JSE Limited, they held the position of Senior Manager: Regulatory Development and was later promoted to Head: Group Compliance in 2018. In their roles at JSE, Paul was responsible for interpreting financial market legislation, drafting market guidance and policy, and implementing amendments to the rules and directives of the company. Additionally, they managed a team of Regulatory Specialists and regularly liaised with professional and regulatory bodies such as the Financial Services Board.

Paul Hartzenberg obtained their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in Law from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, where they studied from 2003 to 2007. Paul also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Clinical Psychology and English from the same university.
