Broadcast Associate at Judicial Watch

Troy Donovan is a Broadcast Associate at Judicial Watch. Troy previously worked as a Media Relations Intern at The Heritage Foundation from January 2019 to April 2019. In this role, they were responsible for formulating and promoting conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense.

During their time at The Heritage Foundation, Troy was responsible for assembling the daily digital report by tracking Heritage experts and research quoted in print and digital media for staff. Troy also compiled the weekly Best in the Press digital document that presents Heritage experts’ opinions for staff, donors, and members. In addition, Troy fielded nearly 100 media requests via telephone from news outlets and passed information to communications managers. Troy also organized over 1,500 Heritage Foundation mentions in print and digital media into an Excel program for archival purposes.

In addition to their media relations duties, Troy also assisted with checking in media personnel from different news outlets for different Heritage education seminars, discussions, and lectures. Troy also researched a wide variety of conservative policies for Heritage employees using a wide range of online sources. Lastly, they transcribed Heritage experts’ media interviews into written format to later use for subtitles.

Through their work at The Heritage Foundation, Troy has gained valuable experience in media relations, research, and event coordination. Troy has demonstrated their ability to effectively communicate with different stakeholders, compile extensive research reports, and organize large-scale events. These skills will be invaluable as they continue their career in the public policy arena.

Troy Donovan attended Somers High School, where they earned their high school diploma. Troy then went on to study at Asnuntuck Community College, also earning a high school diploma. Finally, they completed their undergraduate studies at Franciscan University of Steubenville, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts - Digital Broadcasting & Production.
