Sam Shiverick

Sam Shiverick has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple companies and roles.

In 2012, Sam began their career as a Geology Intern at WPX Energy, eventually progressing to the roles of Geologist I in the Piceance Basin, Geologist II in the San Juan Basin, and Senior Geologist in the Permian Basin. During their time at WPX Energy, they contributed to the development of a midstream deal team that unlocked $1.2 billion in value.

In 2017, Sam joined Marathon Oil Corporation as an Exploration Manager, where they played a key role in rolling out a unique exploration model and building a multidisciplinary team. They were passionate about low carbon development of unconventional assets. Their tenure at Marathon Oil lasted until 2021.

Sam's work in the energy industry also involved serving as a Board Member for Canyon Creek Energy in 2021 and as a Board Member for Power Sentry from 2018 to 2023.

In 2021, Sam became the Chief Executive Officer of Buckhorn Production LLC. In this role, they are responsible for leading the company's operations.

In 2022, Sam took on additional leadership positions, becoming the Chief Executive Officer of JuiceBar, a company manufacturing premium electric vehicle chargers, and a Board Member for the Independent Petroleum Association of New Mexico.

Overall, Sam Shiverick has a track record of leadership and expertise in the energy industry, with a focus on exploration, low carbon development, and business strategy.

Sam Shiverick completed their high school education at The Taft School from 2005 to 2008, earning a High School Diploma. They then pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Geology and Economics at the University of Colorado Boulder, from 2008 to 2012. In terms of additional certifications, Sam obtained a certification in Energy and Finance Management from the University of Denver in September 2013. Later, in January 2019, they completed a certification in Leading Through Financial Excellence from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
