Michael Weber

Chief Architect at JumpCloud

Michael Weber has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Currently, they are working as a Netbox Design Partner, starting in December 2022. Prior to this, they were the Chief Architect at JumpCloud from April 2022 onwards.

Before joining JumpCloud, Michael worked at Splunk, where they held two roles. From September 2019 to April 2022, they served as the Sr. Manager, Traffic Engineering. Prior to that, from October 2018 to September 2019, they worked as the Sr. Principal Engineer in the Architecture Group.

Earlier in their career, Michael was the Principal Engineer and Head of Platform Engineering at Instart Logic from June 2014 to September 2018. At Instart Logic, they played various leadership roles, oversaw software development teams, and was instrumental in evolving the architecture to a micro-service-based cluster structure, improving service isolation and capacity planning.

From July 2011 to June 2014, Michael served as a Staff Engineer and Manager at Qualcomm Research Silicon Valley. In this role, they focused on programming models for heterogeneous multi-core systems, mobile devices, and power consumption.

Prior to Qualcomm, Michael worked at the University of Twente, first as a Research Fellow from September 2007 to August 2009, and then as an Assistant Professor from September 2009 to July 2011. Michael also worked as a Research Fellow at the Dutch Center for Mathematics and Computer Science (CWI) from November 2005 to August 2007.

Michael's earlier experiences include being a Visiting Researcher at Bell Laboratories in 2007 and RWTH Aachen, where they served as a Doctoral Candidate from 2001 to 2005. Michael also briefly worked as a Visiting Researcher at Masaryk University in 2004.

Michael Weber attended RWTH Aachen University from 1995 to 2005, where they obtained a Doctor of Natural Sciences (Dr. rer. nat.) degree in Computer Science.
