Samantha Scott, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in a variety of sectors. Samantha began their career in 2008 as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Southern California, where they researched the development of implantable microelectronic devices for the treatment of blindness. In 2012, they became a Business Consultant at PedSono Ultrasound and Children's Hospital Los Angeles-Saban Research Institute. In 2014, they took on a Postdoctoral Fellow role at the National Institutes of Health, and in 2015 they became a Research Scientist at Vasoptic Medical, Inc. In 2016, they took on the role of Editor and Project Manager at Innovative Strategic Communications, LLC. Finally, in 2017, they founded JuneBrain Inc., a start-up company developing a wearable imaging device that provides non-invasive measurement of retinal pathology to help remotely monitor retinal and neurological disease patients.
Samantha Scott, Ph.D. has a diverse educational background. Samantha obtained their BS in Biomechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Samantha then pursued a degree in Computational Neuroscience and Artificial Intelligence from the University of Oxford. Following that, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California. Additionally, they hold a Graduate Certificate in Technology Commercialization from the University of Southern California.
