Kal Freese is an accomplished entrepreneur and leader with extensive experience in the food and beverage sector, currently serving as the COO, GTM Leader, and Head of Marketing & RevOps at Runway since November 2024. As a co-founder and advisor at Taika, which specializes in award-winning coffee and matcha drinks, Kal has played a pivotal role in establishing the brand, now available in over 2,500 retailers. Additionally, Kal has been an angel investor since July 2018 in numerous startups, including several in the Y Combinator accelerator. Previously, as the co-founder, COO, and Head of Product at Sudden Coffee, significant milestones were achieved under Kal’s leadership, including raising $8 million in funding. Kal's educational background includes participation in Y Combinator and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Helsinki.
