Masao Akamatsu

Mr Masao Akamatsu was appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Jurong Engineering Limited on 1 April 2017. Mr Akamatsu has over 30 years of experience with IHI Corporation and its group of companies. Prior to joining Jurong Engineering, he was a Director and Chief Operating Officer of IHI Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. From 2011 to 2015, he was the General Manager of IHI Taipei Representative Office and President of IHI Taiwan Corporation. Mr Akamatsu joined Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co., Ltd, now known as IHI Corporation in 1985, and held leadership roles across various functions especially in the industrial heavy machinery business including the position of Deputy General Manager in the Logistics Systems and Steel Structures Operations and the position of General Manager in IHI Transport Machinery Co., Ltd. Mr Akamatsu graduated from Sophia University, Japan with a Bachelor of Arts in Law degree.
