Conner Tidd

Co-Founder & CEO at Just Vertical

Conner Tidd's work experience includes founding and leading Just Vertical, a successful multimillion-dollar start-up in the urban agriculture industry. Conner developed the AEVA vertical growing system, allowing urban consumers to grow their own food indoors.

Prior to that, Conner held various roles at the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law, including Senior Strategy and Innovation Officer, International Secretariat Manager, and Assistant Secretariat Manager. Conner was responsible for developing and implementing sustainable development projects, managing international teams, and coordinating events and publications.

Conner also worked at Bayer CropScience, where they focused on strategically positioning agriculture as a solution to sustainability challenges in Canada. Conner proposed a sustainability strategy and represented Bayer at public events.

In addition, Conner worked at the University of Toronto, developing leadership and learning strategies for students. Conner also recruited and managed a team of coaches.

Earlier in their career, Conner served as the Sustainability Commissioner for the Arts Undergraduate Society of McGill University, worked as a sous chef at The Naked Sprout restaurant, and held positions at Spencers on the Waterfront and Benny's Bistro & Deli.

Conner also had experience as a landscaper in a private organic garden.

Conner Tidd's education history includes a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Sustainability Management from the University of Toronto. Conner also pursued a Masters of Standardization, Social Regulation, and Sustainable Development degree at the University of Geneva. Furthermore, Conner holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Environmental Studies from McGill University, with a minor in Law, Politics, and Society.

In addition to their academic achievements, Conner has obtained several certifications. Conner completed the Operational Excellence Foundations course at LinkedIn in January 2022. In November 2016, they completed the Climate Law and Governance program offered by UNDP. Additionally, Conner obtained certifications such as the Basic Health and Safety Awareness Program from the University of Toronto, the Understanding the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service from the Council of Ontario Universities, and safeTALK - suicide alertness for everyone from the University of Toronto in August 2015.
