Hugo Laing has a diverse background in digital marketing and media buying, starting as an Editorial and Digital Promotions Assistant at hyponik in 2015. Hugo later moved on to become an Editor and Digital Manager at hyponik, where they directed the editorial and digital marketing strategy. In 2017, they transitioned to Night Department as a Digital Marketing Manager, defining the digital strategy for multiple artists. Hugo then joined Motive Unknown in 2018, where they held roles as a Digital Marketing Manager, Senior Digital Marketing Manager, and eventually as the Head of Growth Marketing. Currently, they serve as the Head of Performance Marketing at JustWatch, where they help entertainment brands with media buying capabilities.
Hugo Laing attended Highgate Wood Secondary School in Haringey, London. Hugo then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Leeds from 2010 to 2011. Later, they completed a Bachelor of Arts in Popular Music at Leeds College of Music from 2012 to 2014. In addition to their formal education, they obtained various certifications in digital marketing and analytics, including those from Google, Coursera, and other institutions.
