Brian Tankersley, CPA, CITP, CGMA has over 25 years of professional experience in accounting, financial, tax, and technology matters.

Brian began their career in 1992 as a Senior Associate at Coopers & Lybrand. Brian then moved to Pilot Corporation in 1997, where they served as Internal Audit Supervisor and was part of the Pilot 2000 BPR team. In 2003, they joined HG&A Associates as a Senior Manager.

In 2002, Brian established their own consulting and professional development firm, Brian F. Tankersley, CPA.CITP. Brian has since provided CPA review, Continuing Professional Education (CPE) through most of the various state CPA societies, and written for various publications.

In 2010, Brian began working as a Contributing Editor for The CPA Technology Advisor / Cygnus Business Media and as Technology Editor for The CPA Practice Advisor. In 2017, they joined Yaeger CPA Review as an Adjunct Instructor.

Brian has also been a Senior Faculty Member at Becker Professional Review since 1997, where they have led the East Tennessee instructional team, interviewed and trained instructors, and worked with students and faculty on problems.

Brian Tankersley, CPA, CITP, CGMA received a BSBA in Accounting (cum laude) and a BSBA in Finance (Magna Cum Laude) from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee between 1990 and 1992. Prior to this, they attended the University of California, Davis from 1987 to 1990, studying Engineering. In March 2002, they obtained the Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) certification from the AICPA, and they also hold the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) certification from CIMA.
