Ka'anapali Golf Courses
Experience Ka'anapali Golf Courses on Maui, Hawaii located in the heart of Ka’anapali Resort. Only steps away from the top beach in America, Ka’anapali offers 36 holes of premier championship golf, FootGolf and lessons from our PGA teaching professionals. The Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course is the original resort course on Maui and features a unique Robert Trent Jones, Sr. design. Royal Ka'anapali opened with a tee shot from Bing Crosby in 1962 and hasn't missed a beat since. Royal Ka’anapali has been home to PGA Tour events such as The Champions Skins Game, Golf Channel’s Big Break Ka’anapali, the original Shell's Wonderful World of Golf, the Canada Cup, and LPGA Kemper Open. Trent Jones, Sr, took advantage of the rolling landscape to create gently sloping fairways and large contoured greens to ensure a challenging approach to each hole. Stretching 6,700 yards, this par 71 course will challenge your club selection and putting skills. The Royal Ka’anapali Golf Course begins at sea level with a par 5 hole extending 550 yards, hugging the shoreline before winding its way to the West Maui Mountain foothills. Arnold Palmer called the 18th hole (par 4) one of the best and most challenging finishing holes he’d ever played. The 449-yard hole plays longer than it looks, making it a memorable last hole. At 6,400 yards, the par 70 Ka’anapali Kai Golf Course is a more forgiving course with subtle, undulating greens that accommodates all levels of play. The Kai course is landscaped with native flowers along the trails like the hibiscus, bougainvillea and plumeria, as well as the Norfolk Pines and coconut trees that border many fairways. Ka’anapali Kai was created by architect Arthur Jack Snyder in 1976 and redesigned by Hawaii’s most prolific golf course architect, Robin Nelson. This course focuses on strategy of your round, not necessarily distance or strength, which is why this course is enjoyed by both the beginner and avid golfer.
