Lead Game Designer - Marvel Contest Of Champions at Kabam

Bryan O'Hara has a diverse and extensive work experience in the gaming industry. Bryan started their career in 2009 as a MIGS Floor Coordinator at Alliance numérique, where they planned and supervised volunteer roles for a major conference.

In 2010, Bryan worked as a Lead Designer at the Emergent Media Center, leading two projects by providing documentation, conducting meetings, tracking progress, and maintaining the overall vision. Bryan also worked as a Designer at GameBlend Studios during this time, where they designed mechanics, screen flow, and UI while managing and directing contracted art production.

Moving on to 2011, Bryan joined Magellan Interactive as a Designer, and then later joined Gameloft in 2012 as a Game Designer. Bryan managed the design and implementation of asynchronous multiplayer features in Dungeon Hunter 5 and implemented critical gameplay features in top titles like Modern Combat 4 and Gangstar 4.

In 2015, Bryan transitioned to Hothead Games, initially as a Senior Game Designer. Bryan designed and implemented various social systems and late-game systems in Hero Hunters and Kill Shot Bravo. Later, they became the Lead Game Designer at Hothead Games, overseeing the design team for Hero Hunter's soft launch and successfully launching the game worldwide. Hero Hunters received several accolades for its innovation and recognition from Apple and Google.

Since 2018, Bryan has been working at Kabam, starting as a Lead Quest Designer for Disney Mirrorverse. Bryan led the combat encounter creation team, mentored a team of Quest Designers, and acted in a product design capacity during critical beta pivots. Now, they hold the role of Lead Game Designer for Marvel Contest of Champions, where they are responsible for the design direction of the game.

Throughout their career, Bryan has demonstrated their expertise in game design, product management, team leadership, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Bryan O'Hara earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Game Design from Champlain College, where they attended from 2007 to 2011.
