Simon Cameron has a diverse work experience in the game design industry. Simon started in 2007 as a TSR at Shaw Communications, where they gained strong communication skills. In 2009, they joined Propaganda Games as an Associate Game Designer, working on TRON: Evolution and fulfilling various roles such as core feature/system design, level design, content creation, and AI scripting.
In 2010, Cameron worked as a Game Scripter at Slant Six Games, contributing to Resident Evil Raccoon City. Simon focused on level design, scripting gameplay, and collaborating with the design team. At the same time, they also mentored students as a Game Design Mentor at Vancouver Film School.
Continuing their game design career, Cameron joined Klei Entertainment in 2012 as a Technical Game Designer for the project Mark of the Ninja. Simon designed and implemented 2D levels, collaborated with the entire design team on core gameplay features, and worked closely with the art and programming departments.
From 2013 to 2014, Cameron was a Game Designer at Harebrained Schemes, where they played a significant role in developing the critically acclaimed Dragonfall Expansion for Shadowrun: Returns. Simon owned various responsibilities, including level design, player abilities, combat systems, and player progression and reward schedules.
In 2014, Cameron briefly worked at Roadhouse Interactive as a Level Designer, gaining experience with the Unity engine and designing levels for Warhammer 40k: Carnage. Later that year, they joined Blackbird Interactive, Inc as a Game Designer, specializing in campaign design and scripting.
Finally, since 2016, Cameron has been at Kabam, starting as a Game Designer and progressing to roles such as Senior Game Designer and Lead Game Designer. Currently, they hold the position of Lead Game Designer - MCoC, overseeing Marvel Contest of Champions.
Simon Cameron earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Vancouver Island University, where they studied from 2004 to 2007. Simon later attended Vancouver Film School in 2007 and 2008, focusing on Game Design.
