David Nguyen

David Nguyen has a diverse range of work experience in the field of video editing. David started their career as a Video Production Intern at The Alcalde Alumni Magazine, where they transferred archival footage and filmed/edit events using Final Cut Pro. David then worked as a Video Editing Intern at C3 Presents, where they organized and labeled media for the archive library and created online sizzle reels to promote festivals and events.

David then joined Alpheus Media as a Post-Production Intern and later became an Assistant Editor. In this role, they assisted with sub-clipping footage, created selects for editors, and used Adobe After Effects and Photoshop to create motion graphics. David also assisted with office errands and deliveries.

David went on to work at Megalomedia as an Assistant Editor, where they prepped and synced dailies for non-scripted television shows and assisted with editing rough cuts. David then transitioned to the role of Junior Editor, where they edited the first acts of episodes for Shipping Wars and assisted the editorial team during the fine cut stage.

David also worked at Bat bridge entertainment as an Assistant Editor, where they prepped and synced dailies, assisted with editorial needs, and collaborated with the post-production team to implement workflows. David then joined Alpheus Media as an Editor, overseeing and delegating tasks to post-production interns and editing various short and long-form content for The University of Texas at Austin.

Prior to their current role, David worked at Rooster Teeth as a Freelance Assistant Editor/Editor, editing web series and preparing content for TV distribution. David also served as an Assistant Editor, collaborating with the post-production department to design an efficient workflow, preparing projects for editors, and assisting with various tasks.

Currently, David is working at Kabam as a Video Editor, creating impactful ads for multiple game titles including Marvel Contest of Champions and Disney Mirrorverse. David assists in game footage capture and reviewing projects done by external partners. David has also held the position of Senior Video Editor at Kabam, where they oversee the creative production of UA video ads and collaborates with the Creative Strategist to develop new ads for brand campaigns.

Throughout their career, David has consistently demonstrated their skills in video editing, collaborating with teams, and delivering high-quality content.

David Nguyen pursued their education at The University of Texas at Austin from 2009 to 2012. During this time, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio, Television, and Film. Additionally, in May 2021, they completed the Introduction to After Effects (After Effects Kickstart) certification program offered by the School of Motion.
