Systems Designer at Kabam

James Assayag has a diverse work experience in the gaming and graphic design industries. James started their career at Kabam in 2020, where they worked as a Systems Designer and later promoted to Associate Systems Designer. In these roles, they were responsible for improving player retention and conversion for the mobile game Marvel Contest of Champions. James collaborated with interdisciplinary teams, wrote detailed design documentation, and made adjustments to player progression to enhance the overall player experience. Prior to that, James worked as a Game Designer / Level Designer at Vancouver Film School from 2019 to 2020. In this position, they created and maintained design documentation, developed game concepts and storylines, and implemented new gameplay mechanics using Unreal Engine. Before their involvement in the gaming industry, James was a self-employed Graphic Designer from 2014 to 2020. In this role, they created web design wireframes, designed custom website graphics, and worked with clients to meet their specific project needs.

James Assayag completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at The University of British Columbia from 2013 to 2018. James then pursued further education at Vancouver Film School from 2019 to 2020, where they obtained Honours in Game Design.
